The Nebraska City Police Department currently consists of 15 sworn officers, which includes a K9 named Jordy. The Chief of Police is David Lacy, who has over 20 years of experience with the department. Among the administrative personnel there is a Captain and a department secretary.  The Department is staffed with knowledgeable personnel, who have a wide variety of specialized training and skills. The Nebraska City Police Department operates around the clock providing 24 hours of service to its citizens.

 Upcoming Events

The Nebraska City Street Dance- August 21st, 2010 from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM in the 1000 of Central Avenue. Dance to the music of Fever and The Funkhouse. Gates open at 6:45 PM admission for adults is $5, children 12 and under are free.

  42nd AppleJack Festival

The annual AppleJack Festival hosted in Nebraska City - September 17th through the 19th. Events include a parade with a marching band competition with at least 30 highschools participating. Car enthusiasts will not want to miss the AppleJack Car Show lining Central Avenue on Sunday. Among other events, there will be the AppleJack Fun Run/Walk, arts, crafts, museums, quilts, food vendors, wine tasting, apple picking, a carnivial for the kids and much more.

 

MADD

Recently the Nebraska City Police Department recieved the 2009 outstanding law enforcement award from MADD. The award was acheived because of the department's aggressive adult DUI enforcement.
